Entisaf Org condemns Saudi enemy escalation targeting Sa’ada, Taiz
Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights has condemned, in the strongest terms, the escalation by the Saudi enemy against several Yemeni governorates over the past few hours.
In a statement received by the Yemen News Agency (Saba), Entisaf denounced the Saudi enemy’s targeting of residential areas, populated villages, and civilian infrastructure in the governorates of Sa’ada and Taiz through missile strikes, artillery shelling, airstrikes, and direct fire.
The organization noted that Saudi enemy aircraft targeted the Same’ district in Taiz governorate, injuring a woman. Another woman was injured by artillery shelling carried out by Saudi aggression mercenaries in Al-Rubai Al-Rawd area of Al-Ta’iziyah district, while an airstrike targeted the eastern access point of Al-Qasr Roundabout road in Salah district.
Entisaf also condemned the Saudi enemy’s shelling of the Mahalla and Al-Qahr Hattab areas in the Munabbih district of Sa’ada Governorate, which resulted in injuries to a Yemeni citizen and an African migrant. Another citizen was injured in the Al-Jabanah area of Razih district.
These attacks coincided with missile and artillery shelling targeting border villages and populated areas in Al-Dhahir, Razih, and Ghamr districts, as well as missile strikes targeting telecommunications networks in the Saqin and Haydan districts.
Entesaf Organization deemed the continued airstrikes, as well as artillery and missile shelling targeting residential areas, populated villages, and civilian and service facilities, to be grave violations of the rules and principles of international humanitarian law—specifically the principles of distinction and proportionality. These actions contravene international norms guaranteeing the protection of civilians and civilian objects.
The organization warned that the ongoing Saudi aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen pose a persistent threat to civilian lives and exacerbate humanitarian and living conditions.
This is in addition to the damage inflicted upon property, civilian facilities, and infrastructure—particularly service facilities upon which the population relies for daily life—and the resulting humanitarian, psychological, and social repercussions, especially for women, children, and the most vulnerable groups.
The organization called upon the international community, the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities. It urged them to work towards halting the Saudi aggression and blockade, ensuring the protection of civilians and civilian objects, and refraining from ignoring the violations committed against the Yemeni people.
It reiterated its call for immediate protection for the Yemeni people—particularly women and children—to ensure their safety and shield them from aggression.
The organization also called for respect for the rules of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, and for the adoption of serious international measures to halt the aggression and the targeting of civilians and civilian objects, lift the blockade, and ensure accountability for the perpetrators of these violations.
