Israeli aggression targeted archaeological sites in Damascus
The Ministry of Culture condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted, on Sunday dawn, some residential neighborhoods in the city of Damascus along with Citadel of Damascus, Fine and Applied Arts Institute, and the Technical Institute of Antiquities and Museums.
“The Ministry of Culture condemns in the strongest terms this treacherous Israeli aggression that targeted an archaeological site that is part of the world cultural heritage, the act that is forbidden according to international agreements that prohibit targeting cultural sites, and accordingly this attack is a full-fledged crime” the Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Culture ,in its statement, called on the international community to condemn this brutal aggression, and to curb the aggressor who ignore international law and international charters and treaties, calling on the international community and international organizations interested in cultural affairs, led by The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to condemn this aggression and take the necessary measures to hold the aggressor accountable.
