In Al Hodeidah, Fire broke out 11 houses in displaced persons camp
A fire broke out in a camp for displaced people in Al-Qanawis district of Al-Hodeida province today, which led to the devastation of 11 houses.
During the field visit to the fire site, the Assistant Undersecretary of the province for Northern Directorate Affairs, Ghaleb Hamza, called on the relevant organizations and authorities to respond quickly to help families who have lost their houses and are out in the open.
He explained that the fire caused by fireworks destroyed the houses of about 11 displaced families who were living inside the camp, including furniture, food and livestock, without causing any injuries.
Deputy Hamza stated that the local authority in the province, in coordination with the branch of the Council for Humanitarian Affairs, implemented an emergency response immediately after receiving a report of the fire, and provided financial assistance to relief families who no longer had sustenance.
He stressed that the damage caused by the fire included everything that these families owned, including motorcycles, livestock and foodstuffs, pointing out the importance of intervention to quickly provide new housing for these families and provide them with the necessary assistance.
