Mine Action Center: 37 Civilians Were Killed As A Result Of Cluster Bomb Explosions Last August
The Executive Center for Mine Action revealed that 37 civilians were killed as a result of the explosion of cluster bombs and war remnants, including 12 children, during the month of August 2023.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Center expressed regret at the continued suspension of funding for mine action for the second month in a row by the United Nations, despite the availability of funding from the Humanitarian Fund in Yemen.
The Center indicated that, despite the continuous follow-up and requests from the Executive Center of the United Nations to clarify the reasons for stopping the support, the Center has not received any response yet.
He stressed that the fall of victims in this large number as a result of cluster bombs, war remnants, and mines will result in disabilities for a large segment of the Yemeni people, especially children.
