UN: A large number of civilians killed as Israeli occupation shell sites in Gaza

United Nations Development Program announced on Sunday death and injury of a large number of civilians as a result of the bombing of its headquarters by the Israeli occupation in Gaza strip where Palestinians had taken refuge.

“The ongoing tragedy of killing and injuring civilians is unacceptable and must stop,” Agence France-Presse quoted the program as saying in a statement.

The program affirmed the need to a ceasefire in Gaza.

The United Nations stated that it evacuated the headquarters of its employees in the first week of the aggression, and used it to receive displaced people and those fleeing the war.

In its statement, the United Nations Program stressed the necessity of respecting and protecting civilians, civilian infrastructure, and the sanctity of United Nations facilities at all times.
