Israeli army kills 1 Palestinian in West Bank
The Israeli army killed on Thursday a Palestinian and wounded others with a gunfire in the West Bank city of Ramallah, the Palestine Red Crescent Society said.
“Our teams received a martyr from the village of Burqa near Ramallah, and he is being transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex,” the aid organization said in a statement.
Eyewitnesses informed the Anadolu correspondent in the field that the Israeli army opened fire on three Palestinians as they were passing over a bridge at the entrance of the town of Burqa, east of Ramallah. The wounded individuals were transported to a medical center, and the death of one of them was confirmed.
On a daily basis, the Israeli army conducts incursion campaigns into villages and towns across the West Bank, accompanied by confrontations, arrests, as well as live ammunition and tear gas firing at Palestinians.
Tensions have been high across the West Bank since a fighting broke out on Oct. 7 between Palestinian groups and Israel in Gaza.
The number of Palestinian fatalities in the West Bank has risen to 228 since the Gaza conflict escalated, the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Thursday.
