The Oncology Center in Sana’a warns of a humanitarian catastrophe that threatens the lives of 25,000 cancer patients

The head of the National Cancer Center in Sana’a, Dr. Abdullah Thawabeh, warned of a humanitarian catastrophe against oncology patients due to the lack of oil derivatives as a result of the blockade imposed on the country.

Dr. Thawabeh, in his statement today, Sunday, held the coalition countries and their followers fully responsible for their unjust siege imposed on the Yemeni people.

He stressed that the Oncology Center provides its services to more than 25,000 patients in all governorates of the Republic, pointing out that 120 patients receive daily treatment in the radiation department, 140 patients in the chemotherapy department and others in the diagnostic and examination departments, all of which depends on electricity.

There are doctors who were unable to reach the oncology center due to the lack of oil derivatives, as well as patients in the governorates who will lose their lives at any moment if they do not arrive on time, Dr. Thawabeh added.

He held the coalition countries and humanitarian organizations full of humanitarian and moral responsibility as a result of any health disaster that might occur to tumor patients in the event that the blockade on oil derivatives continues.
