Children and Women Burned Alive in Israeli Strike on Gaza School

Several children and women were burned alive after Israeli warplanes bombed a crowded school shelter in northern Gaza, turning a place of refuge into a scene of horror.

The attack, which targeted Osama Bin Zaid School in Al-Saftawi area, north of Gaza City, killed at least 10 people, including two children and a woman. Medical sources at Al-Shifa Medical Complex confirmed the arrival of charred bodies, describing the scene as horrific.

Witnesses said the bombing triggered a massive fire that tore through the school, burning several victims alive. Most of the dead and injured were women and children who had taken refuge in the building after fleeing previous Israeli attacks.

Videos recorded by residents showed flames engulfing classrooms and injured civilians trapped beneath rubble and debris. In one heart-wrenching clip, a man was seen collapsing in grief as he carried the burnt body of a baby from the upper floor of the school.

Eyewitnesses shared scenes of chaos as people tried to rescue survivors from the fire. Thick smoke and cries for help filled the air as neighbors used whatever tools they could find to reach victims.

Social media users posted footage showing a wounded man stuck in the flames as others rushed to save him. The images sparked outrage across the region and renewed calls for international intervention.

This latest massacre adds to a growing list of Israeli attacks on schools, shelters, and hospitals across Gaza. According to the Ministry of Health, 72 Palestinians were killed and 174 others injured in the last 24 hours alone.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed more than 56,000 Palestinians and wounded over 132,000, with 72% of the victims being women and children, the ministry reported. At least 11,000 people remain missing, many of them presumed dead under the rubble.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen as Israel blocks the entry of food, water, fuel, and life-saving medicine. Aid convoys remain restricted, and hospitals are barely functioning under the constant threat of bombing.

Residents and human rights groups continue to describe the situation as a genocide in progress, as displaced families are repeatedly targeted even in so-called safe zones.
