Save the Children, andsrael- and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) of endangering civilians and violating over 170 NGOs accuse the Ihumanitarian norms. They say Israeli forces and armed groups have killed more than 500 Palestinians seeking aid since GHF began operating in late May.
The UN also condemned the program, calling it “inherently unsafe.” GHF rejects the accusations and says it has delivered over 52 million meals in five weeks. The NGOs criticize GHF for forcing two million people into just four overcrowded, militarized aid zones, replacing 400 previous distribution points. They report near-daily shootings at these sites, with 408 of the 583 killings occurring close to GHF centers. Aid groups warn that families now face an impossible choice: “starve or risk being shot.” Despite GHF’s defense, citing looting at other aid efforts, the UN and NGOs argue the system prioritizes control over humanitarian principles and puts lives at daily risk.
