Israel Escalates Brutal Attacks on Gaza as Most Palestinians Refuse to Flee
Israel has intensified its brutal assault on Gaza while the Israeli army estimates that roughly 850,000 Palestinians refuse to leave the city. Israeli media reported that explosions in Gaza could be heard from Tel Aviv, 71 kilometers away.
On the 710th day of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, at least 62 Palestinians were killed in airstrikes on Monday. Twenty of the victims were in Gaza City. The Israeli army targeted homes and tents of displaced families to expel them.
Under heavy bombardment, dozens of Palestinians are fleeing on foot toward southern Gaza. They have nowhere safe to go as airstrikes hit residential areas and shelters.
The United Nations warned that Israel blocked humanitarian aid today. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said Israeli forces prevented aid from reaching Gaza City. He added that Vital humanitarian assistance cannot enter under continued airstrikes.
In northwest Gaza City, Israeli forces destroyed homes with explosive vehicles. Israel’s Channel 12, citing military sources, reported that airstrikes would intensify in coming days. The escalation aims to force residents to leave their city.
Channel 12 also reported that talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio were “excellent,” and that Washington continues to fully support Israel’s attacks on Gaza city..
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini condemned the attacks on humanitarian sites. He said Israel hit 10 UNRWA buildings in Gaza in four days, including two clinics and seven schools serving thousands of displaced Palestinians.
“No place is safe in #Gaza. No one is safe,” Lazzarini said.
“Airstrikes in Gaza City & the north are intensifying.
More & more people are forced to leave, disoriented & uncertain, heading into the unknown.
Only in the past four days, 10 UNRWA buildings have been hit in #Gaza City.
This includes seven schools and two clinics currently used as shelters for thousands of displaced people.“
The world watches as Gaza’s civilians face relentless attacks. Humanitarian agencies call for an immediate ceasefire and urgent aid.
