Minister of Higher Education announced the signing of agreements to establish 300 temporary schools in the Gaza Strip
The Minister of Higher Education announced the signing of agreements to establish 300 temporary schools in the Gaza Strip, a move aimed at resuming in-person education in schools and universities after prolonged disruption.
The ministry explained that these schools will be built using rapid and flexible solutions that take realities on the ground into account, in order to provide the safest possible learning environment for students and educational staff.
UNICEF had previously announced that 98% of schools in the Gaza Strip were damaged or destroyed as a result of Israeli bombardment, undermining any real chance of restoring the education system.
The project comes as part of a comprehensive emergency plan to revive education and mitigate the catastrophic impact inflicted on the education sector by the Israeli genocide.
