On the occasion of the International Day of Charity, Entisaf Organization: Charity is a Humanitarian Responsibility in the Face of Growing Needs in Yemen

On the occasion of the International Day of Charity, observed annually on September 5th, Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights emphasizes the importance of charitable and humanitarian work in promoting the values ​​of solidarity and compassion, and supporting the most vulnerable groups, especially women and children, amidst the dire humanitarian and living conditions in Yemen.

This occasion comes at a time when humanitarian needs are increasing, and the suffering of families is worsening due to deteriorating economic and living conditions, rising levels of food insecurity and malnutrition, and declining access to basic services.

According to the latest UN humanitarian data for 2026, more than 22.3 million people in Yemen require humanitarian assistance and protection, including approximately 10.95 million women and girls. Meanwhile, 18.3 million people suffer from acute food insecurity, and more than 2.2 million children under the age of five face acute malnutrition, including more than half a million children suffering from severe acute malnutrition.

The Entisaf Organization believes these figures reflect the scale of the growing humanitarian need and underscore the necessity of strengthening charitable work and community initiatives, alongside continued humanitarian and relief support, to alleviate the suffering of affected families, protect women and children, and provide for their basic needs.

The organization calls on donors and humanitarian organizations to redouble their efforts and secure the necessary funding for humanitarian programs, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most, and preventing millions of Yemenis from being left to face dire humanitarian and economic conditions.

The Entisaf Organization also emphasizes that charitable work should not be limited to emergency aid, but should include supporting livelihoods, empowering families economically, and strengthening the health, education, and water sectors, thereby contributing to poverty reduction and vulnerability, and building the community’s resilience to crises.

On the International Day of Charity, the Entisaf Organization reiterates its call to solidify a culture of giving and solidarity, and to encourage humanitarian and community initiatives, affirming that supporting those in need and protecting human dignity is a shared responsibility, and that charitable work represents one of the highest forms of human solidarity.
