Entesaf Organization Condemns the Injury of an Elderly Woman in Shelling and Damage to Civilian Homes in Taiz

Entesaf Organization for Women and Child Rights strongly condemns the targeting by Saudi enemy aircraft of civilian areas and facilities in Taiz Governorate, which resulted in two civilians being injured, including an elderly woman, and caused damage to a number of civilian homes, in an attack that endangered the lives of civilians and their property.

The airstrikes targeted three telecommunications towers in the areas of Al-Dhikrah and Al-Hawban in Al-Taiziyah District and Al-Rahedah area in Khadir District, in addition to a telecommunications tower in Al-Salmi locality in Khadir District. The strike on the telecommunications tower in Al-Rahedah resulted in civilian injuries and damage to homes, while other strikes hit several service facilities in other areas, threatening the continuity of essential services for local residents.

The Organization affirms that the injury of an elderly woman and the damage to civilian homes as a result of the shelling, alongside the targeting of service facilities, constitute a serious escalation and a violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, which provide protection for civilians, their property, and civilian infrastructure.

Entesaf Organization holds the Saudi enemy fully responsible for this crime and the resulting human and material losses. It calls on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their responsibilities, work to halt attacks against civilians, their property, and civilian facilities, and hold those responsible for such violations accountable.
