Entisaf Organization Condemns Escalation of Saudi Aggression and 2,177 Strikes and Missile Attacks on Yemeni Governorates Since the Escalation Began
Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns in the strongest terms the ongoing Saudi aggression against Yemen and its military escalation. The past 24 hours alone saw 119 airstrikes targeting civilians and civilian objects in the capital, Sana’a, as well as the governorates of Al-Jawf, Taiz, Sa’ada, Marib, Lahj, Al-Bayda, and Ibb. The total number of airstrikes and missile attacks since the escalation began has reached 2,177—a grave violation that threatens civilian lives and compounds the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The organization asserts that the continued airstrikes and attacks on Yemeni territory—accompanied by the targeting of civilians, facilities, and civilian objects—constitute a serious violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, particularly the principles prohibiting the targeting of civilians and civilian objects.
Entisaf Organization warns of the dire humanitarian consequences of the ongoing aggression and blockade, including the potential for further civilian casualties—particularly among women and children—as well as the destruction of property, civilian facilities, and infrastructure, and the deepening of the humanitarian crisis facing the Yemeni people. The organization calls upon the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities; to take serious and urgent action to halt the Saudi aggression and lift the blockade; to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian objects; and to launch independent and transparent investigations into all violations and crimes committed against the Yemeni people.
Entisaf Organization also reiterates its call to hold accountable those responsible for grave violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, to ensure that the perpetrators of these crimes do not escape punishment, and to provide redress and reparation to the victims for the harm they have suffered.
