Statement by the Entesaf Organization for the Protection of Women’s and Children’s Rights Regarding the Bloody Massacre in “Hazm Al-Jawf”
The organization condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the treacherous massacre committed by the Saudi-led coalition in Al-Jawf Governorate. We classify this as a full-fledged war crime and a crime against humanity—a crime that is not subject to any statute of limitations. The coalition targeted the central market in Hazm—a location crowded with shoppers—as well as several residential homes and a gas station in the same area. The attack resulted in more than 14 deaths and 16 injuries, including three women among the civilians and shoppers. The airstrikes also caused extensive damage to nearby shops and homes.
The organization asserts that the Saudi-led coalition’s continued commission of heinous, systematic massacres against civilians—and its persistent targeting of women and children, devoid of any humanitarian conscience or sense of obligation—constitutes a flagrant violation of all international agreements and laws.
Furthermore, this horrific crime—which follows 100 days of bloody escalation and ongoing massacres against the Yemeni people—represents a grave and blatant violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. It serves as definitive proof of the deliberate killing and abuse of the most vulnerable groups, all occurring amidst a shameful international silence that emboldens the perpetrator to continue their transgressions without fear of accountability. The organization holds the Saudi-led aggression fully criminally and legally responsible for the lives of these innocent people—especially the women and children—who were killed by the Saudi war machine.
The organization calls upon UN bodies and international human rights organizations to break the wall of silence, take immediate action to document these crimes, and launch an independent international criminal investigation to prosecute the perpetrators and ensure they do not escape punishment.
The organization urges the global conscience and free people everywhere to exert serious pressure to halt this systematic escalation and lift the unjust blockade—now in its 12th year—which continues to devastate the mothers and children of Yemen, day after day.
The blood of the victims at the Al-Hazm market in Al-Jawf Governorate will remain a historic indictment, bearing witness to the brutality of tyranny. Entisaf Organization will not waver in fulfilling its human rights mandate to pursue the killers and ensure the voices of the victims are heard in every forum.
