Human Rights Statement by the Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights Regarding the Targeting of a Peaceful Family by Saudi-Led Aggression Mercenaries in Al-Maqatirah District, Lahj Governorate

With profound sorrow and in the strongest possible terms of condemnation, the Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights has received tragic news from Lahj Governorate, documenting the ongoing, systematic crimes—specifically the targeting of peaceful families within their own homes—by mercenaries of the Saudi-led aggression. This constitutes a blatant defiance of all international laws, as well as humanitarian and tribal norms.

The organization condemns this treacherous and direct assault, which targeted the home of an innocent citizen in the village of Al-Sharaf, located in the Al-Maqatirah District of Lahj Governorate. Preliminary reports indicate that the head of the family was killed, while his wife and son sustained severe injuries.

In condemning this heinous crime, the Entisaf Organization asserts that the deliberate shelling and attacking of the homes of defenseless civilians represents a flagrant and brutal violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law—constituting a clear and complete war crime. Targeting a family—a father, mother, and son—within the confines of their own home reveals a criminal ideology that places no value on the sanctity of human life, nor does it show any regard for the specific needs and safety of women and children. This occurs against a backdrop of suspicious international silence and shameful complicity by the United Nations, which effectively provides cover and encouragement for the perpetrators, allowing them to evade accountability and punishment. The organization condemns, in the strongest possible terms, this brutal attack on an innocent family in the village of Al-Sharaf, Al-Maqatirah District. It classifies this act as a crime against humanity—a crime that is not subject to a statute of limitations. The organization holds the “aggression coalition” and its mercenaries fully legally and morally responsible for the shedding of this innocent man’s blood, as well as for the terrorizing and wounding of his wife and son.

Furthermore, the organization calls upon the United Nations, the Security Council, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to break their current state of inaction and indifference, and to take immediate steps to halt these recurring assaults on civilians across various governorates.

The organization urges independent human rights bodies to document this heinous crime—along with previous ones—and to initiate an international investigation that leads to the prosecution of the perpetrators and their commanders as war criminals before international courts.

The cries of victims—women and children—in Lahj and throughout all Yemeni governorates over the course of 12 years of aggression, and the stifled voices of children trapped beneath the rubble of their homes, will remain a living testament to the atrocity of this aggression. Entisaf Organization will continue to be a steadfast voice, documenting these violations and bringing the plight of the Yemeni people to every free global forum.
