Human Rights’ Ministry Condemns Saudi Crimes In Border Districts
The Ministry of Human Rights condemned, in the strongest terms, the continuation of the Saudi army and border guards in committing crimes against civilians and African migrants in the border areas, the latest of which was killing and injuring 11 people.
In a statement, the ministry was surprised by the continued silence of the international community and international bodies and organizations, led by the United Nations, regarding the crimes committed by the Saudi regime.
It stated, “We remind the world, with all its humanitarian bodies, that the victims of the Saudi attacks, since the beginning of the truce, have reached 2,258, including 285 martyrs in the border districts of Sa’adah. The death toll is still escalating, and artillery shells and machine guns are still raining down on the heads of civilians and immigrants. The most severe forms of torture and abuse are being practiced against them.”
The Ministry called on the free world, and human rights and humanitarian organizations, to put pressure on the Saudi regime to prevent the perpetration of more genocide crimes against Yemeni citizens and African immigrants.
The Ministry of Human Rights renewed the call to the competent bodies and all humanitarian and international organizations to review the crimes committed by the Saudi regime in the border areas, pointing to the importance of organizations operating in Yemen by providing the necessary requirements to aid the injured.
On Thursday, the Eye of Humanity Center condemned the Saudi army’s artillery targeting of innocent civilians in the Shida border district of Sa’adah governorate.
The Center also condemned the silence of the international community and international bodies and organizations, led by the United Nations, which stands by watching what the Saudi forces and their mercenaries are doing against the people of Yemen.
Almasirah Net correspondent in Sa’adah reported that a civilian was killed, with Saudi artillery shelling on the border district of Shida.
Earlier on the day, two civilians were injured on Thursday as a result of Saudi artillery shelling targeting the border district of Shada in Sa’adah Governorate.
Last Tuesday, a citizen was injured by Saudi army fire in the border district of Shada, and he was taken to Razih Rural Hospital for treatment.
On Monday, a citizen was killed and five others, including two African immigrants, were wounded by the fire of the Saudi army in the districts of Shada and Munabbih.
On Sunday, eighteen civilians, including three African immigrants, were injured by artillery fire from the Saudi army on the border districts of Shada and Munabbih.
Last Saturday, four civilians, including African immigrants, were injured as a result of Saudi bombing of the Al-Raqo area in the border district of Munabbih, while five wounded, including three African immigrants, arrived at Al-Talh Hospital, who were injured by Saudi artillery shelling on the border districts of Shada, Razih and Munabbih.
Various areas of the border districts in Sa’adah are subjected to Saudi missile and artillery shelling, on a daily basis, resulting in heavy material losses.
Saudi Arabia, backed by the US and its other regional allies, launched a devastating war on Yemen in March 2015. The seven years and half of war has killed hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure. People of Yemen are facing malnutrition, hunger, and famine, which have increased risks of disease and starvation.
In light of its defeats on various front lines and its failure to achieve any of its objectives, the US-Saudi aggression is notorious for its indiscrimination shown by its numerous attacks against densely-populated centers, including markets, hospitals, farms and schools.
