UNICEF activities & interventions in Marib province discussed

The director of the branch of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs in Marib province, Saleh Al-Sharif, discussed on Monday with the director of the UNICEF office in Sana’a, Fathia Omar, the organization’s activities and projects in the province.

The meeting, which included the organization’s health sector official, Fahim Al-Hajj, and the water sector official, Saad Al-Saadi, touched on the organization’s humanitarian interventions and projects implemented in the health, education, water and nutrition sectors.

The meeting dealt with ways to enhance cooperation and coordinate interventions according to existing priorities and urgent needs.

At the meeting, Al-Sharif reviewed the humanitarian situation in the province and the suffering facing citizens as a result of the continued aggression and siege and the targeting of facilities and service projects in the province, which calls for intensifying humanitarian interventions, expanding the organization’s activities, and giving the province priority in interventions and financing within the 2023 plan to cover the large gap in need.

For her part, the Director of the UNICEF Office appreciated the cooperation of the Humanitarian Affairs Council in the province with the organization and the facilitation of the tasks of its team in implementing activities and projects.. stressing that the organization will work to expand its interventions according to the need plan.
