Entesaf Organization: Expansion child labor phenomenon during 3000 days of aggression

Entesaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights announced that the phenomenon of child labor has expanded during the war, at rates that may exceed four times what it was before the war.

The organization stated in a statement on the occasion of the International Day against Child Labor, June 12 of each year, that the number of working children reached 7.7 million, between the ages of 5 and 17, and they constitute 34.3% of the total population in the country.

The statement stated that the work rate is higher for older children compared to younger ones, as the rate of working children between the ages of 5 and 11 years is 11%, distributed between 12.3% for girls, compared to about 9.8% for boys, the percentage rises to 28.5% among children. 12–14-year-olds and to 39.1% in 15–17-year-olds.

He pointed out that 1.4 million working children in Yemen are deprived of their most basic rights.

The organization held the coalition of aggression led by America and Saudi Arabia responsible for all crimes and violations against civilians, especially women and children, over a period of three thousand days.

It called on the international community, international organizations, human rights and humanitarian bodies to bear legal, humanitarian responsibility for the violations and heinous massacres that occur against civilians.

The statement called on the free people of the world to take effective, positive action to stop the aggression, protect civilians, to form an independent international commission to investigate all crimes committed against the Yemeni people, and to hold accountable all those found involved in them.
