The United Nations has warned that food aid stocks are running out for Yemen, calling on donor countries to fulfill their pledges.
David Beasley, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, said on his Twitter account: “The World Food Program has not fed a single person based on a promise.
Promises do not work if they are not followed by contributions.” “We are urgently calling on those who have pledged to help Yemen to write checks, so that WFP can continue to provide life-saving assistance,” he added.
The UN official concluded his message by saying: “Our food stocks are running out.”
