Statement by Entesaf Organization on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, December 1

Statement by Intisaf Organization on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, December 10

Today, December 10, marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, declaring unified standards of human rights for all peoples and nations. This day is an opportunity to remind that human rights are universal, indivisible, inalienable, interconnected and interrelated. While their promotion and protection is imperative to preserve human dignity, true respect for and fulfillment of human rights is also indispensable to achieve peace, democracy and sustainable development.

However, for nearly 10 years, we have witnessed the most heinous criminal aggression in history in Yemen, in full view of the hypocritical world and its inhumane organizations that have revealed their ugly face and blatant bias with war criminals and killers of children, women and civilians, and violations in the shadow of permanent deprivation of the most basic rights enjoyed by their counterparts in stable countries.

Entesaf organization reported that the number of victims of direct bombing by the US-Saudi aggression, including women and children, during nearly 10 years exceeded 14,807 martyrs and wounded, revealing catastrophic numbers of the repercussions of the aggression and siege on Yemen.

The organization explained in an issued statistic that the number of child victims reached 9,248 children, including 4,136 children killed and 5,112 children wounded, while the number of female victims reached 5,559, including 2,492 women killed and 2,366 women wounded.

The organization condemned that the aggression coalition aircraft launched 2932 cluster raids over the past 10 years, and the total number of civilian victims from the use of cluster bombs since the beginning of the aggression reached nearly 9000 victims, most of whom were women and children. The aggression coalition aircraft used more than (3,187,630) American, British, Pakistani and Brazilian cluster munitions spread in most governorates of the Republic of Yemen. The aggression’s targeting of service sectors has exacerbated the humanitarian situation of millions of citizens, and many of them have become unsafe due to the spread of cluster bombs.

The statement mentioned that the number of violations committed by the aggression forces on the West Coast amounted to more than 800 crimes against children and women, including kidnapping and rape crimes. The aggression caused an increase in the rates of gender-based violence among children, which increased by 63% compared to before the aggression.

The number of displaced persons increased during nine years of aggression to 6.4 million displaced persons, including 740,122 families, half of whom are women and children.

The organization held the aggression coalition led by America and Saudi Arabia responsible for all crimes and violations against civilians, especially women and children, over nearly 10 years, calling on the international community, UN organizations, human rights and humanitarian bodies to bear legal and humanitarian responsibility for the violations and horrific massacres that are taking place against civilians. It called on the free people of the world to take effective and positive action to stop the aggression and protect civilians, and to form an independent international committee to investigate all crimes committed against the Yemeni people, and to hold accountable anyone proven to be involved in them.
