Statement of condemnation by #Entesaf Organization regarding the crime of raping a child by a laboratory doctor and the complicity of the security forces under the control of Tariq Afash in Al-Mokha District, #Taiz Governorate

Entesaf Organization condemns the heinous crime committed by a laboratory doctor in one of the clinics on the rape of an 8-year-old girl and a laboratory doctor and the complicity of the security forces under the control of Tariq Afash in the Yakhtal area affiliated with Al-Mokha District, #Taiz Governorate, three days ago

Entesaf Organization condemns this heinous and hideous crime that is religiously, customarily and legally rejected, as rape and all other forms of sexual violence are a violation of international humanitarian law and all parties must commit to preventing sexual violence. All countries are committed to prosecuting its perpetrators.

The law of treaties (the Fourth Geneva Convention, Article 27) also prohibits rape or any form of sexual assault, as Article 27 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 stipulates the protection of civilians during wars, including women and children, and Articles 21 and 32 of the Convention prohibit the practice of any physical or moral coercion on protected persons, as well as Additional Protocol I (Article 76) and Additional Protocol II (Article 4). Article 19 of the Convention on the Rights of Women and Children requires states to “take all necessary legislative, administrative, social and educational measures to protect them from all forms of physical or psychological violence,” and Article 34 requires signatory countries to protect women and children from “all forms of sexual exploitation and sexual assault.” The organization also condemns the continued international and UN silence towards these crimes, and holds the United Nations and all its organizations responsible for this crime, its predecessors, and what will follow it, and its repercussions on society, and recalls that the crime falls within the lists of war crimes and crimes against humanity. It also calls on all civil society organizations, and all media and human rights activists to show solidarity, stand seriously, and take responsible action to expose the hideous violations committed by the coalition and its mercenaries against children in Yemen.
