Sana’a – Saba:
The Entesaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights confirmed that the United Nations and its organizations have abdicated their responsibilities towards the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples.
In a statement on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, August 19, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the organization explained that more than 21.6 million Yemenis are in need of humanitarian assistance, and more than 2.4 million people in the northern Gaza Strip are at risk of starvation and in need of aid, while the United Nations and its organizations are absent. They have even abdicated their responsibilities and withdrawn support from most vital sectors, including the health sector.
The statement stated that the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples are living under the burden of lack of healthcare, killing, displacement, and eviction, and all their rights, as enshrined in international laws, charters, and treaties, are being violated and deprived.
It pointed to the United Nations’ lack of transparency, accountability, and integrity in its aid, emphasizing the need to engage in the implementation mechanisms of UN humanitarian programs in Yemen and Palestine.
Also emphasized that the daily increasing suffering of the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples compels the humanitarian community to review the operating mechanisms of international organizations, most of which lack transparency and integrity in providing humanitarian aid.
It pointed to the influx of spoiled, expired, and unusable humanitarian aid since the beginning of the aggression on Yemen and Gaza by international organizations, which has contributed to the increased suffering of the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples, who are being subjected to a war of starvation by the aggression.
The statement noted that this year has witnessed an alarming increase in attacks against relief workers in Palestine, noting the killing and assassination of numerous relief workers, as well as injuries, kidnappings, and detention of humanitarian workers by the Zionist aggression, and the destruction of hundreds of humanitarian headquarters and centers.
