Assassination of the Director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund in #Taiz Governorate

We condemn and denounce in the strongest terms the heinous crime committed by gunmen in the city of Taiz, assassinating Ifthan Al-Mashhari, the Director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, while she was driving on Sinan Street in the center of Taiz city, on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

This heinous and horrific crime is unacceptable under Sharia, custom, and law. Assassination and premeditated murder are forms of violence and constitute a grave violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the targeting of innocent civilians in any way. The reliance of mercenaries on these crimes also confirms their violation of the principles and rules of international humanitarian law, including the principles of humanity, distinction, and proportionality. This has made these crimes amount to crimes against humanity and an extension of the series of war crimes and genocide committed by the Saudi-led aggression coalition and its mercenaries in Yemen.

We hold the aggression coalition led by the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, along with their paid mercenaries, responsible for committing the most heinous crimes and violations against the Yemeni people. We also hold armed groups supported and paid by the aggression responsible for committing heinous crimes and violations against citizens in the Yemeni territories under their control.
