Statement of condemnation by the Entesaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights regarding the horrific death toll of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, with the increasing number of (68,280) martyrs and (170,375) wounded.
This is a horrific and incomplete death toll from the crimes committed by the Zionist Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people. With the continued recovery of the bodies of martyrs from under the rubble and areas that became accessible after the ceasefire, the death toll from the Israeli enemy’s massacres is projected to exceed its initial figures. Current estimates indicate more than (68,280) martyrs and (170,375) wounded, and these numbers are constantly rising. These alarming and incomplete figures place a heavy burden on the international community to ensure accountability and justice.
These crimes and mass massacres constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which requires the protection of civilians and civilian objects. The targeting of innocent civilians confirms the Israeli occupation army’s deliberate violation of the fundamental principles of this law, most notably the principle of distinction between combatants and civilians, the principle of proportionality, and the principle of humanity. These grave violations constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity, and are an extension of the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation for years in Palestine.
We hold the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for all crimes targeting civilians and infrastructure. We demand an immediate and impartial international investigation to ensure criminal accountability for the perpetrators of these violations, which amount to crimes against humanity and whose horror becomes clearer day after day as victims continue to be recovered.
In this context, we call on the United Nations, the Security Council, and Muslim countries to assume their historical responsibility and take immediate action to provide the necessary support to relief and rescue teams to recover and identify all victims. They must also immediately initiate comprehensive reconstruction plans, provide urgent humanitarian aid, and, most importantly, take decisive action to permanently end the occupation and prevent the recurrence of these crimes.
