Statement of condemnation by the Entesaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights regarding the horrific toll of victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and their increasing numbers (69,179) martyrs and (170,693) wounded
In a horrific and still incomplete tally of victims of the crimes committed by the Zionist Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and with the ongoing recovery of martyrs’ bodies from under the rubble and in areas now accessible after the ceasefire, the death toll from the Israeli enemy’s massacres is expected to surpass initial figures. Current estimates indicate more than 69,179 martyrs and 170,693 wounded, and these numbers continue to rise. These appalling and incomplete figures place a heavy burden on the international community to ensure accountability and justice.
These crimes and massacres constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which mandates the protection of civilians and civilian objects. The targeting of innocent civilians confirms the deliberate violation by the Zionist Israeli occupation army of the fundamental principles of this law, most notably the principle of distinction between combatants and civilians, the principle of proportionality, and the principle of humanity. These grave violations elevate these acts to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and represent a continuation of the genocidal crimes perpetrated by the Zionist Israeli occupation for years in Palestine.
We hold the Israeli Zionist occupation forces fully responsible for all crimes targeting civilians and infrastructure. We demand an immediate and impartial international investigation to ensure the criminal accountability of the perpetrators of these violations, which amount to crimes against humanity and whose brutality becomes clearer every day as the bodies of victims continue to be recovered.
In this context, we call upon the United Nations, the Security Council, and Muslim countries to assume their historical responsibility and take immediate action to provide the necessary support to relief and rescue teams to recover and identify all victims, to immediately begin comprehensive reconstruction plans, to provide urgent humanitarian aid, and, most importantly, to take decisive measures to permanently end the occupation and prevent the recurrence of these crimes.
