The Blood of Innocence on School Seats: A Statement of Condemnation from the Entesaf Organization Regarding the US-Israeli Aggression Targeting a Girls’ School in Southern Iran

The Entesaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights condemns in the strongest terms the heinous and treacherous crime committed by the US-Israeli aggression targeting a girls’ primary school in the Minab region of Hormozgan Province in southern Iran. The initial, horrific toll is 53 martyrs and more than 52 wounded, all young students.

This blatant attack represents a flagrant violation of all human values, international norms, and divine laws that prohibit and criminalize targeting civilians, especially children and students in their educational institutions, which must remain safe havens far removed from the conflicts of aggressor powers and their instruments of destruction.

While the Entesaf Organization follows with deep sorrow the repercussions of this brutal aggression, it affirms that what occurred constitutes a full-fledged war crime. The deliberate targeting of educational facilities and the killing of underage girls constitutes a grave crime against humanity that cannot be subject to any statute of limitations, and a blatant challenge to international humanitarian law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The organization also strongly condemns the suspicious international silence regarding these heinous crimes targeting children and women, considering this international inaction as what encourages the aggressor forces to persist in their transgressions and cross all red lines with impunity.

Therefore, the organization calls upon the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and all international organizations to urgently form an independent international commission of inquiry to uncover the circumstances of this atrocious crime and to work diligently to bring its perpetrators and those responsible to international justice.

The organization also calls upon the international community and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to provide the necessary medical and relief support to the wounded, and to seriously uphold their legal and moral responsibilities to protect civilians and guarantee children’s fundamental right to life and safe education.
