Palestinian Center for the Defense of Prisoners reports that Israel has detained about 1,700 Palestinian children in the West Bank
The Palestinian Center for the Defense of Prisoners reports that Israel has detained about 1,700 Palestinian children in the West Bank since October 2023, with dozens more detained in the Gaza Strip. According to rights group, over 55,500 children have been detained since 1967, with around 350 currently imprisoned, including some under administrative detention.
The report added that arrests often involve night raids, and that children face abuse, blindfolding, interrogations without legal support, solitary confinement, and poor prison conditions, including lack of medical care and malnutrition. The group says these practices constitute systematic violations affecting children’s growth.
