Siamese Twins Died After An hour They Were Born in Sana’a
Siamese twins died today, an hour after their birth, at Al-Sabeen Maternity and Childhood Hospital in Sana’a.
Obstetrics and gynecology consultant Dr. Munira Al-Fayek, head of the team that performed the operation, explained that the medical team succeeded in performing a caesarean section for a woman in her thirties from Marib Governorate, who gave birth to Siamese twins with two separate heads and one body.
She indicated that the twins died due to their critical condition, while the mother’s condition is stable.. She indicated that the mother knew that she was carrying a female twin, but she did not know that it was Siamese.
Dr. Al-Fayek pointed out that the Siamese twin was born with two heads, two hearts, two spines and a common lung, indicating that the mother had previously given birth to twins who died due to premature birth in the seventh month.
