Statement Condemning Crimes Committed by the Saudi-US Aggression Coalition Against Children in Marib Governorate

We condemn and denounce, in the strongest terms, the ongoing crimes and massacres perpetrated by the mercenaries of the Saudi-US aggression coalition against the Yemeni people through the deliberate shelling of civilians and civilian objects. Most recently, a child was injured by the explosion of a remnant of the Saudi-US aggression in the Ramdah area of Mahliyah District, Marib Governorate.

This targeting constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the targeting of innocent civilians in any form. It further confirms the deliberate violation by Saudi-US aggression forces of the principles and rules of international humanitarian law—specifically the principles of humanity, distinction, and proportionality. These actions elevate the offenses to the level of crimes against humanity and represent a continuation of the series of war crimes and acts of genocide committed by the aggression coalition against Yemen over the past eleven-plus years.

We hold the United States, Saudi Arabia, and their coalition responsible for all crimes committed against civilians and demand an investigation and criminal accountability for all those proven to be involved. We also hold the United Nations and the Security Council responsible for their shameful silence and failure to fulfill their duties—actions that have emboldened the United States and Saudi Arabia to continue committing further war crimes against civilians in Yemen.
