Entesaf Organization Condemns Targeting of Al-Barh Bridge in Taiz, Resulting in Civilian Casualties Including Children
Entesaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns in the strongest terms the Saudi-led aggression that targeted Al-Barh Bridge in Maqbanah District, Taiz Governorate, today. According to preliminary reports, the attack resulted in the deaths of two children and the injury of a civilian, in addition to damaging the road and cutting off access for travelers.
The organization strongly denounces the continued targeting of civilians, facilities, and vital roads, as well as the resulting direct threat to the lives of citizens—particularly women and children—and the obstruction of movement and access to basic services. These actions constitute a flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, which mandate the protection of civilians and civilian objects during military operations.
The organization also condemns the airstrikes targeting Al-Mukha District in Taiz Governorate, asserting that continued military escalation and the targeting of civilian areas constitute a grave violation of international humanitarian law, necessitating accountability for all violations committed against civilians.
Entesaf Organization holds the Saudi-led aggression fully responsible for these crimes and their humanitarian consequences. It calls upon the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their responsibilities by working to halt the targeting of civilians and civilian objects, launching independent and transparent investigations into these crimes, and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
Furthermore, the organization reiterates its call for the protection of civilians, a cessation of military escalation, and the assurance of safety for roads and civilian facilities, thereby upholding citizens’ rights to life, freedom of movement, and safe access to basic services.
