Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the military escalation by the Saudi-led coalition against civilians in Taiz Governorate. A woman was killed and five others—including a child—were injured when Saudi-led coalition aircraft targeted the Bani Amer area in Al-Shamayatayn District.

Separately, a man was killed and his wife injured following artillery shelling on their home in the Al-Ram Al-A’la area of Hayfan District. These attacks reflect the grave risks threatening civilian lives and the resulting humanitarian suffering and severe damage inflicted upon families in the targeted areas.

The organization affirms that targeting homes and residential areas, and endangering the lives of women and children, constitutes a serious violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, which mandate the protection of civilians and civilian objects. It further emphasizes that women and children are entitled to special protection under international law; their victimization in these attacks necessitates serious action to halt violations, ensure accountability, and prevent impunity. The organization emphasizes the necessity of conducting independent and effective investigations, establishing accountability, holding those found responsible answerable, and ensuring the right of victims and their families to redress and reparation, in accordance with international law.

The organization warns of the grave psychological and social repercussions of these attacks on affected women, children, and families, as well as the fear, loss of security, and human suffering they leave in their wake. It asserts that the protection of civilians is not a political choice but a legal and moral obligation that cannot be evaded or treated lightly.

Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights calls for an immediate halt to attacks targeting residential areas and strict adherence to the rules of international humanitarian law and the principles of civilian protection. It demands independent and transparent investigations into crimes committed over the past 12 years, the identification and legal prosecution of those responsible to ensure they do not escape punishment, the provision of urgent medical care to the injured—particularly women and children—and the guarantee of unhindered humanitarian access to those affected. Furthermore, it calls for effective measures to protect civilians and prevent recurring attacks on homes and civilian objects. The organization also urges the United Nations and international human rights bodies to document these violations, take urgent action to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities, and work to halt these crimes, provide redress to victims, and ensure their right to justice and reparation. Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights emphasizes that the lives of civilians—foremost among them women and children—are not merely fleeting statistics; they are human lives entitled to safety, security, and dignity. The organization warns that the continued loss of life without genuine accountability entrenches a culture of impunity and compounds the suffering of Yemeni families, necessitating urgent and serious international action to ensure the protection of civilians and secure justice for the victims.
