The Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the atrocity committed by the Saudi-led coalition’s air forces, which targeted civilian homes in the Humayr al-Jabal area of Maqbanah District, Taiz Governorate. According to preliminary reports, the four airstrikes resulted in the deaths of 9 civilians—including women and children—and left 16 others injured. Many more remain trapped beneath the wreckage of their homes; rescue and recovery efforts are proving difficult, raising concerns that the death toll may rise further.

The organization emphasizes that targeting inhabited homes poses a direct threat to civilian lives and raises serious concerns regarding adherence to the rules of international humanitarian law, which mandate the protection of civilian populations and objects, and strictly prohibit attacks directed against them.

The organization holds those responsible for this aggression accountable for the resulting human casualties and damage. It calls for an immediate cessation of attacks on residential areas and urges the intensification of rescue and emergency response efforts to recover those trapped under the rubble and provide urgent medical care to the wounded—especially women and children. Entisaf Organization calls upon the United Nations, the international community, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to protect civilians in Yemen, conduct an independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances of this crime, hold those responsible for the violations—as established by such investigations—accountable, and ensure they do not escape justice.

The organization emphasizes that protecting civilian lives is a legal and humanitarian duty that brooks no delay, and that rescuing those trapped beneath the rubble must be an urgent priority to prevent further casualties.
