Statement by the Entisaf Organization Regarding the Saudi-led Aggression’s Massacre and the Targeting of a Family in Their Home in the Nihm District, Sana’a Governorate

Sana’a – October 23, 2026

The Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the military escalation by the Saudi-led coalition and its continued targeting of civilians and residential neighborhoods across several Yemeni governorates. The resulting airstrikes and border shelling have led to civilian casualties—including children and women—in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the principles governing the protection of civilians.

The organization expresses its profound condemnation of the airstrikes that targeted the Nihm District in Sana’a Governorate. Preliminary reports indicate that 12 civilians were killed and several others wounded. Among the victims was a single family, three of whom were killed and nine injured when their home was struck—a scene that underscores the scale of the humanitarian tragedy, for which civilians are paying the ultimate price within the safety of their own homes.

Furthermore, the organization condemns an attack on a residential home in the Al-Za’azi’ area of the Ash-Shamayatayn District in Taiz Governorate, which resulted in the death of one civilian and injuries to four others, including two children. Additionally, the ongoing border assaults in the Baqim and Munabbih districts of Sa’ada Governorate have left two civilians and an African migrant wounded—an act of aggression that threatens the fundamental right to life and physical safety, without distinction. Entisaf Organization asserts that targeting homes and civilian objects—thereby exposing children and families to the risk of death or injury—constitutes a grave violation of the rules of international humanitarian law. This is particularly true with regard to the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention and the 1977 Additional Protocol I, both of which mandate the protection of civilians and civilian objects.

The organization further emphasizes that the presence of civilians within their own homes does not render them legitimate targets for military operations. The fact that children fall victim to such attacks only compounds the severity of the humanitarian and legal consequences of these violations.

Entisaf holds those responsible for these attacks accountable for their outcomes. It calls upon the United Nations, international organizations, human rights bodies, and mechanisms tasked with civilian protection to take urgent action to halt the 12-year Saudi-led aggression and blockade, as well as the ongoing assaults on residential neighborhoods and homes—which have resulted in approximately 62,000 casualties (killed and wounded). The organization demands independent and transparent investigations into these incidents, ensuring that those found responsible for violations are held to account and do not escape justice. Furthermore, it calls for the provision of necessary protection for women, children, and all other civilians, and urges efforts to end the escalation that continues to exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen.

Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights stresses that the targeting of civilians is not subject to a statute of limitations. The lives lost and the rights of the victims’ families must not remain hostage to international silence and indifference. The organization reiterates its call for serious international action to put an end to these violations, provide redress for the victims, and guarantee their right to justice, remedy, and reparation.
