Statement of Condemnation by the Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights Regarding the Horrific Massacre of Children and Girls in Al-Shamayatayn District, Taiz Governorate
The Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns the heinous crime committed by the Saudi-led coalition’s air forces, which directly targeted a private home in the Al-Za’azi’ area of Al-Shamayatayn District, Taiz Governorate. Preliminary reports indicate that two children and two girls were killed, and several other civilians sustained various injuries.
This horrific, bloody massacre is a continuation of the series of grave crimes and violations perpetrated by the coalition against innocent civilians—specifically women and children, who have suffered the most from this ongoing aggression and the systematic abuses against childhood and motherhood in Yemen over the past 12 years.
Entisaf Organization asserts that targeting civilian objects, populated areas, and safe homes constitutes a flagrant violation and a serious breach of international humanitarian law, as well as all international charters and agreements that guarantee the protection of civilians—particularly women and children. The organization holds the coalition forces fully responsible for these atrocious crimes.
Furthermore, the organization reiterates its condemnation of the silence maintained by the international community, as well as by UN and international human rights and child-protection organizations. This continued disregard for such violations has effectively emboldened the perpetrators, allowing them to persist in their wrongdoing while remaining free from accountability or punishment. Entisaf Organization calls upon the international community, United Nations bodies, and the Security Council to take serious and responsible action to halt the bloodshed in Yemen, to initiate an independent and impartial international investigation into all crimes committed against civilians in Yemen, and to ensure that those involved are brought to fair trial and held accountable, preventing impunity.
Furthermore, it renews its appeal to all free people across the globe, as well as human rights and humanitarian organizations, to intensify their efforts and exert effective pressure to alleviate suffering, end the aggression, and protect civilians, civilian facilities, and civilian objects.
