French Investigation Reveals Extent Of Paris’s Involvement In War Crimes In Yemen
A French newspaper published an investigation in which it talked about the involvement of major French companies in the killing of children in Yemen, with the support of the French state.
In its investigation, the French newspaper Orian 21 spoke about the involvement of major French companies in the killing of children in Yemen, which is the most important arms supplier after US to Saudi-Emirati coalition.
The investigation confirmed that three major French companies were involved in a conflict that killed 110,000 people in seven years, including more than 13,000 civilians.
“We have not recently sold any weapons that can be used in the Yemeni conflict,” In January 2019, the Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, told the most important national radio.
The minister claimed that the equipment handed over was only used to ensure the protection of Saudi territory from ballistic attacks from Yemen.
Not only did French planes, helicopters, tanks and artillery participated in the coalition attacks, but these weapons were used to target civilian areas, according to the investigation.
The investigation stated that the French government refuses to disclose details of the weapons that have actually been delivered to each foreign country.
The French government, in its public reports submitted each year to Parliament, highlights the importance of trade with two of the largest arms importing countries in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
These reports told that between 2015 and 2021, France delivered military equipment, munitions and maintenance services about nine billion euros to these two countries.
