The United Nations said that 7.6 million people in Yemen need services to treat or prevent malnutrition.
This came in a tweet posted by the Office of the Representative of the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen on Twitter.
The office indicated that out of 7.6 million Yemenis, about 2.3 million children under the age of five and 1.2 million pregnant and lactating women need treatment for acute malnutrition.
The UN office had previously said that every 10 minutes a child dies of preventable diseases. He added that the health sector has received only 11% of the funding it needs for the current year, at a time when 20 million people need health aid, according to a previous statement.
The office indicated that only 51% of hospitals are operating at full capacity, while there are no doctors in 67 out of 333 districts.
