Entisaf Organization Condemns Escalation of Saudi Aggression and 450 Airstrikes on Yemeni Governorates This Week

Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns, in the strongest terms, the military escalation by the Saudi aggressor—manifested in the launching of approximately 450 airstrikes this week targeting most Yemeni governorates. This represents a dangerous escalation that threatens civilian lives and exacerbates the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The organization asserts that the continued airstrikes on Yemeni territory—and the accompanying targeting of governorates, residential areas, facilities, and civilian objects—constitute a grave violation of the rules of international humanitarian law. This is particularly true regarding principles prohibiting the targeting of civilians and civilian objects, and the obligation of parties to military operations to take all feasible precautions to spare civilians from the effects of such operations.

Entisaf Organization warns of the serious humanitarian repercussions of this ongoing escalation and the potential for further civilian casualties—especially among women and children—as well as the destruction of property, civilian facilities, and infrastructure, and the deepening of the humanitarian crisis facing the Yemeni people.

The organization calls upon the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities. It urges them to take serious and urgent action to halt these attacks, ensure the protection of civilians and civilian objects, and launch independent, transparent investigations into all violations and crimes committed against the Yemeni people.

Entisaf Organization reiterates its call to hold accountable those responsible for grave violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, to ensure that the perpetrators of these crimes do not go unpunished, and to provide redress and reparation to the victims.
