Renewed Israeli strikes wound 4 in Gaza

The Israeli army wounded four Palestinians, including a girl, on Friday in artillery and drone strikes targeting areas in the central and southern Gaza Strip.

A young man and a girl were wounded by shrapnel from an artillery shell fired by the Israeli army at the Batn al-Sameen area south of Khan Younis, a medical source told Anadolu.

Eyewitnesses also said the army fired artillery shells toward Palestinian homes and tents housing displaced people in the area, while military vehicles opened heavy fire toward areas east and south of the city.

Many residents of Gaza are living in tents, shelters, and damaged buildings after Israel’s genocidal war displaced around 1.9 million Palestinians and destroyed or damaged more than 371,000 housing units, according to the UN, while large-scale reconstruction remains stalled.

In central Gaza, an Israeli drone strike wounded two Palestinians, one seriously, after targeting a tent sheltering displaced people in the town of Al-Zawaida, according to a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
