Entisaf Organization Condemns the Escalation of the Saudi-Led Aggression and the Targeting of Civilians and Healthcare Facilities in Yemen: A Grave Violation of Human Rights and an Attempt to Undermine the Foundations of Life

Sanaa – October 26, 2026

The Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the escalation of the Saudi-led aggression and its ongoing assaults across several Yemeni governorates. These attacks have targeted civilians, their property, healthcare facilities, drinking water sources, and telecommunications networks—a flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law and the principles governing the protection of civilians and civilian objects during armed conflict.

The organization asserts that the killing of two individuals and the wounding of seven others—along with extensive damage to private property—resulting from the bombing of a fuel station in the Al-Dhabab area of Sabr Al-Mawadim District, Taiz Governorate, constitutes a grave assault on civilian lives and property, threatening their security, safety, and livelihoods. Furthermore, the organization condemns the targeting of a drinking water reservoir that serves the villages of Al-Aridah and Azzan, located in the Quds sub-district of Al-Mawasit District, Taiz Governorate. This act poses a direct threat to the citizens’ right to access water, exposing their lives and health to severe risks. The organization condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the targeting of the old Al-Mukha Hospital in Taiz Governorate, which resulted in severe damage to its buildings and health facilities. It emphasizes that medical facilities are afforded special protection under international humanitarian law; attacks against them endanger the lives of patients and the wounded, and deprive citizens—particularly women, children, the elderly, and other highly vulnerable groups—of their right to access healthcare. The organization also denounces the destruction of the telecommunications network in the Marran district of Saada Governorate, caused by two airstrikes. This act has disrupted communication channels and essential services, hindered the transmission of distress calls and humanitarian information, and further exacerbated the suffering of civilians.

The organization stresses that the targeting of health facilities, water sources, telecommunications networks, and other civilian objects cannot be overlooked or dismissed as incidental damage. Rather, it necessitates a serious and independent investigation into the circumstances of these attacks, the determination of responsibility, and the accountability of all those found liable—in accordance with international law—to ensure an end to impunity, provide justice for victims, and secure reparation for the harm they have suffered.

The organization holds those responsible for these attacks accountable for the losses and suffering endured by civilians. It calls upon the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities—to break their silence regarding the ongoing aggression and the blockade imposed on Yemen for nearly 12 years—and to take urgent action to halt these attacks. This includes ensuring the protection of civilians, medical facilities, water sources, and other civilian infrastructure, as well as working to lift the blockade and end measures that exacerbate the suffering of the population and deprive them of their fundamental rights.

Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights asserts that the lives, dignity, and rights of the Yemeni people are not expendable. Targeting the essential elements of survival will neither erase the reality of the victims’ suffering nor negate their legitimate right to justice, accountability, and redress.

The persistence of these violations demands that the international community move beyond mere statements of concern and condemnation toward concrete, serious steps that guarantee the protection of civilians and bring an end to their suffering.
