Human Rights Statement by the Entisaf Organization for the Protection of Women’s and Child Rights Regarding the Bloody “Al-Barh” Massacre in Taiz Governorate
The Entisaf Organization condemns the ongoing series of massacres committed by the “aggression” [coalition] against civilians in Taiz Governorate. This underscores the coalition’s continued perpetration of heinous acts of genocide, targeting families in the safety of their own homes—devoid of any humanitarian conscience or adherence to international laws and charters.
The Saudi-led aggression has committed a brutal massacre—a source of profound shame for humanity—in the Al-Barh area of Maqbanah District, Taiz Governorate. The attack involved a direct and treacherous strike on the homes of innocent civilians—specifically the residences of Ibrahim Saeed Mohammed Ahmed Al-Qawz and Al-Ra’bi Saeed Mohammed Ahmed Al-Qawz—where women and children were present.
According to initial, non-final figures, this criminal bombardment has resulted in the martyrdom of 12 innocent civilians and left 3 others in critical condition. The victims are predominantly women and children, whose fragile bodies were torn to pieces beneath the rubble of their destroyed homes. Entisaf Organization condemns this heinous crime, asserting that the deliberate bombardment of populated residential neighborhoods and the homes of secure families constitutes a full-fledged war crime and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights law. It serves as further evidence of the brutality of the systematic escalation against the most vulnerable groups—women and children—amid a shameful international and UN silence that emboldens the perpetrator to persist in their wrongdoing without fear of prosecution or punishment.
The organization condemns, in the strongest possible terms, this treacherous massacre targeting the Al-Qawz families in the Al-Barh area, classifying it as a crime against humanity that is not subject to a statute of limitations. Entisaf holds the “aggression coalition” fully criminally and legally responsible for the blood and lives of these innocent women and children, who were struck down by the machinery of death and destruction while safe within their own homes.
The organization calls upon the United Nations, the Security Council, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to break their silence and take immediate action to halt these brutal assaults and protect civilians.
Furthermore, the organization urges all international human rights bodies to launch an independent, international investigation into this massacre—as well as previous systematic crimes—and to pursue the perpetrators and their commanders as war criminals before international courts.
Entisaf emphasizes that the blood of the victims of the Al-Barh (Maqbanah) massacre will remain an indelible stain upon the conscience of a silent international community, serving as a historic indictment that will haunt the perpetrators. Entisaf Organization remains steadfast in its duty to document this suffering and to ensure that the voices of the victims are heard across all global forums.
