A press conference in Sanaa to issue the report “Gaza Embracing Death in the Face of the Lie of Peace”
Entesaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights held a press conference to issue a human rights report entitled “Gaza Embraces Death in the Face of the Lie of Peace.”
At the conference, the Minister of Human Rights in the caretaker government, Ali Al-Dailami, indicated that the Palestinian people are being killed and exterminated in cold blood by the Zionist entity, in full view of the world.
He pointed out that international mechanisms and women’s rights and issues are only mobilized when America and Britain want to, according to their agendas that want to exploit women, stressing that there are chilling crimes to which Palestinian women are exposed.
Minister Al-Dailami called for reviewing the broken international mechanisms, and finding alternative mechanisms, whether Arab, regional or humanitarian, to put pressure on what is called international justice.
For her part, the head of the organization, Sumaya Al-Taifi, explained that the report contains only part of the violations and crimes suffered by women and children by the Israeli-American enemy with global international complicity.
She said that despite the comprehensive war of extermination, the international community has not fulfilled its legal responsibilities and has not activated its role in international protection mechanisms for children and women, to ensure that the leaders of the Zionist occupation are held accountable as war criminals for what they committed against the children and women of Palestine.
The report addressed the catastrophic and tragic conditions that women have been living in in Palestine for more than 155 days as a result of the aggression and siege.
It pointed out that the aggression and siege deprived women of their basic rights to obtain health services by targeting hospitals and centers, spreading diseases and epidemics, and increasing rates of malnutrition and hunger, especially among pregnant and breastfeeding women, in addition to increasing the rate of miscarriages and fetal deformities as a result of the use of internationally banned weapons.
The report touched on the conditions of women in the Gaza Strip under the occupation of the Zionist entity and the violence and violations they are exposed to, indicating that the rates of murder and hunger are increasing very significantly.
Also,reviewed examples of humanitarian stories of what is happening in the land of Gaza in terms of a flagrant violation of the rights of women and children, which are guaranteed by all laws and regulations, including the right to life and to live in peace and security, and their basic and non-basic needs are guaranteed.
The report pointed to the shameful and inhumane position of the United Nations and its abandonment of its responsibilities in the face of the violations suffered by Palestinian women, considering what is happening in Palestine as a result of the impunity of the Zionist entity.
It reported that since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023 AD until March 2024, more than 104 thousand were killed and wounded, including 31 thousand and 184 dead, including eight thousand and 900 women, while the number of children reached 13 thousand and 430.
The report called for stopping the Zionist aggression against Gaza and withdrawing from it, lifting the siege by land, sea and air, allowing the return of the displaced to Gaza, and forming an independent fact-finding committee consisting of people known for their competence and impartiality to investigate all violations and crimes that occur in Palestine in general and in Gaza in particular and provide The perpetrators of crimes and massacres are brought to trial.
Al-Taifi called for activating the role of the international community in international protection mechanisms for children and women, to ensure that the Zionist occupation in Palestine is held accountable as war criminals for what they committed against the children and women of Palestine.
She urged the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to stand by the Palestinian people in a serious and practical manner, and hold them responsible for neglecting their duties.
