Save the Children: 18 Children killed or injured in Gaza during 18 days this month

Regional Director of Save the Children for the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe, Ahmed Hindawi, said on Wednesday that 18 children have been killed or injured in Gaza as a result of Israeli enemy drones, airstrikes, and gunfire during just the first 18 days of this month, an average of approximately one child per day.

Save the Children said in a post on its X account, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that Hindawi stated that the death toll continues to rise while the world continues to fail to protect children.

With U.S. and European support, the Israeli occupation army has, for more than two consecutive years since October 7, 2023, committed acts of genocide, imposed a blockade, and carried out starvation policies in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of 73,407 Palestinian civilians, the majority of them women and children, and the injury of 174,335 others, according to a non-final toll as of today. Thousands of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, where ambulance and rescue crews are unable to reach them.
