Statement of Condemnation Regarding the US Aggression Against Civilian Facilities and Areas in Iran

The Entesaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights strongly condemns the US aggression targeting several civilian areas and facilities in the Hormozgan and Kerman provinces of southeastern Iran. This dangerous escalation threatens civilian lives, inflicts severe damage on vital infrastructure and services, and has resulted in civilian casualties.

The attacks targeted a fish processing plant, a fishing pier, and a port authority tower in Sirik and Qeshm in Hormozgan province, as well as Jiroft Civil Airport in Kerman province and several points along the electricity grid in Hormozgan province.

The organization emphasizes that targeting civilian, economic, service, and infrastructure facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of the principles of international humanitarian law, which mandates the protection of civilian objects and prohibits endangering civilian populations.

Entesaf warns of the serious humanitarian consequences of the continuation of these attacks and the resulting damage to civilian lives and livelihoods, as well as the disruption of essential services upon which they depend, thus exacerbating their suffering. The organization holds the United States of America fully responsible for these violations and calls upon the United Nations, the international community, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibilities, condemn the targeting of civilian objects, and work to de-escalate the situation and ensure the protection of civilians.

The Entisaf Organization also reiterates its call for respect for the rules of international humanitarian law, refraining from targeting civilian facilities and objects, ensuring the safety of the civilian population and preventing them from being exposed to further risks, and the necessity of conducting independent investigations into these violations and holding those responsible accountable.
