Entisaf Organization Condemns the Targeting of Children and Civilians in Taiz, Stating: Targeting Innocents Is a War Crime Requiring International Accountability
The Entisaf Organization for Women and Child Rights condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition’s air forces against innocent civilians in Taiz Governorate today, Sunday, November 1, 2026. The strikes targeted the Al-Anin area in Jabal Habashi District, resulting—according to initial reports—in the death of one child and injuries to two young girls, as well as injuries to two other civilians in the Hayjat al-Abed area. These criminal assaults reveal a persistent disregard for civilian lives—particularly those of children, who bear the heaviest toll of such violations.
The organization asserts that targeting civilians and children constitutes a grave violation of the rules of international humanitarian law—specifically the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and Additional Protocol I of 1977—which mandate the protection of civilian populations and prohibit targeting them or endangering their lives and safety. Furthermore, these attacks violate the fundamental right to life, security, and physical integrity, and, once the legal elements are established, they qualify as war crimes.
Entisaf holds the Saudi-led coalition legally and humanely responsible for these crimes and for the resulting psychological, physical, and humanitarian consequences inflicted upon the affected children, women, and families. The organization emphasizes that the continued targeting of civilians—amidst international silence and inaction—fosters a culture of impunity and emboldens the perpetrators to persist in their criminal actions. Entisaf Organization calls upon the United Nations, as well as international and human rights organizations, to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities. It urges them to take urgent action to halt attacks on civilians, initiate an independent and transparent international investigation into these crimes, ensure that those responsible are held accountable—denying them impunity—and provide necessary protection for children, women, and civilians. Furthermore, it calls for an end to the Saudi-led aggression and the blockade that has been imposed on the Yemeni people for 12 years.
The organization emphasizes that the lives of children and civilians are not merely fleeting statistics; the continued targeting of them constitutes a crime that is not subject to a statute of limitations. Achieving justice, providing redress for victims, and holding perpetrators accountable are fundamental rights that cannot be waived.
